Curd is a great source of protein, along with calcium, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin A. All these nutrients are needed for healthy hair. Curd can be taken in the diet to get all these nutrients or apply curd directly on the scalp. Applying curd directly on scalp reduces dandruff, works as a conditioner on hair and strengthen the hair roots.
1. SImply Curd
The main cause of dandruff is bacteria. Apply curd directly on the dandruff region, slowly apply all over your head and hair. Leave it for 30 minutes for it to dry. Wash it with warm water. Try this weekly twice. Not only this will reduce dandruff, but it will also give shine to your hair.
2. Lemon and Curd
Make a paste of curd and lemon juice. Lemon is citric, and curd has lactic acid. Together, they work well in reducing dandruff and maintaining the pH on the scalp. Take on lemon, extract the juice and mix thoroughly with 1 bowl of curd. Apply this mixture on your scalp and leave for 45 mins before washing with a mild shampoo.
3. Curd and Besan
Besam or gram flour works well in removing the dead cells on the scalp. Mix 1 tsp of besan in 1 cup of surd. Beat and blend the flour well with the curd and apply the paste on the scalp. This could be a sticky and thick paste, so, you can apply 1 tbsp coconut oil in the mixture. After applying on the scalp, keep the paste on the scalp for 25-35 minutes. Wash with cool water. You can apply mild shampoo.
4. Vinegar and Curd
Curd and vinegar mixture has lactic and acetic acid. This paste works well because of acid concentration. Take 1 tbsp vinegar and 2 tbsp curd, blend and apply this liquid paste on the scalp. Leave for 30 minutes before washing.
5. Curd and Egg
Eggs and curd collectively strengthen weak hair, prevent hair fall and keep dandruff at bay and works as a great conditioner. Beat 1 egg and mix 3-4 tbsp curd to make a paste. Apply this paste on the scalp, as it could sticky, use a brush. Keep for 45-60 mins before rinsing with warm water. Rinse off the mask with your shampoo.
